BENEFITS OF JUDGING:

You probably have questions though. Don't panic. Judging is easy and fun too. Parents usually really enjoy it, and it's great to participate in a common activity with your student.

Please just go to our 'Volunteer to Judge' tab under 'Parents' to sign up.   Your student will notify you which event they are competing in.

You may also review judge training for either PF, LD or IE (individual Events) under Judge Training.  I will also be available at the tournament to help. We'll usually have 30 minutes to an hour to address any additional questions.

Below you can find some resources to help get you up to speed.

Parents who judge typically.....

* Have better relationships with their kids due to sharing a common academic activity

* Frequently have better and more frequent quality conversations with their kids

* Help their child grow as a public speaker and as a confident individual

* Improve their own understanding of global events and important issues facing the world

* Help their child read and write at a level far exceeding what is commonly taught in high schools

* Help their child get accepted at very competitive universities

* Develop lasting memories that will be remembered far after participation in this activity ends

Thanks very much for considering to be a judge!   It really is easy and rewarding.

It's essential that we have parent involvement at the tournaments since we can only register as many kids as we have judge spots filled -- approximately one judge will allow us to field two teams.

OK Mr. Crisp. I'm sold. What do I do next?
